Cats suffer first loss

The Northwestern Football team came up short against Michigan State this weekend and suffered their first loss of the season. The Cats showed up a quarter late when they trailed the Spartans 17-0 at the end of the first quarter. They hung with State the rest of the game losing by a final score of 34-17.

Northwestern had more total yards throughout the game then Michigan State did, but they also had three costly turnovers, where as the Spartans had none. Although the Cats dreams of going undefeated are over they are still 5-1 a great start. Hopefully the can put this tough loss behind them and look ahead to nextweeks game against Purdue.

Cats prepare for Michigan State

The Northwestern Football team is hoping to keep their undefeated record alive as they prepare to play Michigan State this Saturday, October 11th. The Cats didn't have a game last weekend so they go an extra week to prepare for the big game against the 22nd ranked Spartans.
For the Cats to win this one they'll have to work very hard on containing Michigan State runningback Javon Ringer. He currently leads the Big Ten in rushing yards and is also one of the top five rushers in the nation. Hopefully the Northwestern defense led by middle linebacker Malcolm Arrington can put a stop to Ringer's success.

GO CATS!
